Uniform
At Orchard Primary School, we believe that wearing a school uniform helps foster a sense of pride, belonging, and equality among our pupils. Our uniform policy is designed to be clear, fair, and supportive of all families.
-
Our uniform includes yellow or white polo shirts or shirts, grey or black bottoms, and green or yellow school dresses in summer. This can have the school logo but also a plain version can be purchased from local supermarkets and shops.
-
Year 6 pupils may wear their special black leavers hoodie on PE days.
-
Footwear should be black school shoes or trainers with Velcro fastenings encouraged for ease.
-
Jewellery is limited to ear studs and watches only, and hair must be neat and tied back if longer than shoulder length.
-
For PE, pupils wear sturdy trainers or black plimsolls, house-colour or green PE T-shirts, and plain black shorts or joggers.
-
Wellies and waterproofs are essential for OPAL playtimes to ensure children can enjoy outdoor activities in all weather.
-
All items must be clearly named to avoid loss.
Supporting All Pupils
We understand that some pupils and families may have specific needs or barriers related to uniform and appearance. Our policy is applied fairly and consistently, with consideration for individual circumstances in line with the Equality Act 2010. If you have any concerns or require support, please contact the school.
Accessing the Policy
The full uniform policy is available here for your reference. We encourage all parents and carers to read it carefully to ensure that pupils come to school ready to learn and represent Orchard Primary proudly.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our school office or your child’s class teacher.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a positive and inclusive school environment.
