English is a central part of the curriculum, here at Orchard Primary School. Children will have many opportunities to make cross-curricular links in their reading and writing, covering a wide range of interesting and exciting topics and developing their skills as they progress through the school.  We aim for our children to leave Orchard with a strong understanding of the spoken and written word, underpinned by a passion and appreciation for a wide variety of texts. All our children should see themselves as readers and writers, and enjoy both reading and writing for pleasure.
